ASABYS Partners and Gran Via Business & Meeting Center: a successful collaboration

12 March, 2019

Clara Campàs, Partner and Co-Founder of ASABYS: “The combination of its location and the co-working concept proposed by Gran Via Business & Meeting Center were key points”

Startups are in full expansion, rapidly developing the search for investors that opt for their projects. In this context, these emerging companies need infrastructures that can respond at the same speed as they are expanding, covering all of their needs.

A successful case in this area has been the venture capital firm ASABYS Partners, which was established in Barcelona by the end of 2018, and has already signed with Banc Sabadell the creation of their first fund, Sabadell Asabys Health Innovation Investments, aiming an amount of 70 million euros.

Recently authorized by the CNMV, ASABYSwill start its first investments, amounting a total of 15 projects in the Early Stage Biopharma, biotech industry and pharmaceutical sectors.

Its early development was as fast as its later expansion, going from a 2-people to a 6-people team in very short time. In this regard, they needed a workspace that could keep up with this growth. After considering several options, they chose Gran Via Business & Meeting Center.

“Betting on a Business Center allowed us to choose our own spaces, and to adapt them when needed”, says ASABYS Partner and Co-Founder, Clara Campàs, about the first steps made by her team in this Barcelona center.

The location in the city center was paramount in taking the decision, because according to Campàs, being a team with people who lives as well inside as outside the city, they needed a well-connected venue, not too far away from their investors. “The combination of location, flexibility and service proposed by Gran Via BC was key”, adds ASABYS Partner.

Amongst the workspace’s differential advantages, ASABYS Co-Founder highlights the efficiency of the front-desk service, which makes that “one only has to worry about the meeting agenda, and can easily relegate the management of other events”. Thus, Campàs says it was a pleasant experience to leave in the hands of the reception desk team tasks such as the catering, mail and packaging reception, and scheduled visits or phone calls management.

About the work environment ASABYS was looking for, Campàs emphasizes how positive it is to dispose of an external area such as the top floor’s terrace, where she can directly access from her office: “It’s great to go out and take a call or hold a meeting as if it was an extension of your office”, she points out.

“In this business center concept, we have been able to work in an excellent work environment”, she concludes.
